We just finished a great training conference at First Baptist Church, Weston, Florida.
What a warm and gracious group of folks!
It was a “Spanish” training conference, using both English and Spanish in our presentation audio-visuals and real-time translators providing the interpretation to Spanish-only participants through headphones. This was our U.S. “launch” of the Spanish Truth Project DVDs, so they were available for the attendees as well. We had travelled to Costa Rica earlier this summer to launch the Spanish translation in Latin America.
One of the highlights for all of us was that Barbara Palacios, former Miss Venezuala and Miss Universe, was our Master of Ceremonies. She and her husband, Victor, have been through the Truth Project and the Lord has used it greatly in their lives. We had provided her with an early copy of the Spanish DVDs and I was delighted when she told me that she had gone through each one, to “check out” how well the translation was done. She said it was excellent and that she was very, very happy with it.
That was a relief! Since my Spanish is just enough to get me to the bathroom or order bread and water, it is great to hear a confirmation that all of the extensive translation work paid off. It is tight-lip sync, rather than sub-titled, so the effort was lengthy and tedious to pull off. We have a lot of voices in the Truth Project that had to be matched!

Anyway, I hated to leave. I have a great heart for the Latino people. My family lived in Puerto Rico for many years and it just seems almost home to me to be around them.
May the Lord bless what He started here. My heart was captured by a group of young people from Miami who have such a desire to see God work in their community. There were many leaders from many other Spanish-speaking countries…pastors as well…who are intending to take the Truth Project back to their homes and watch God work!
Let’s pray He continues to do so!
Soli Deo Gloria!

My wife and I attended with five other couples from First Baptist Church Naples FL. About 1.5 hrs West of Westin on Floridas’ West Coast. My wife and I had facilatated a small group of about 18 during the late winter and spring of this year and the five couples who attented the conference with us where from that group. We all left inspired to lead other groups in our church and community. One of the attendees is especially burdened for youth and is very excited about TrueU. Dr. Tackett and the folks at First Baptist Westin did an outstanding job. We are blessed and motivated!!!!
Dear Del,
A nearly lost lesson is writing thank you notes which my mother taught all of her 8. I have not written one in many years, but I will not let this weekend in Weston with you and the TTP family pass without expressing my deepest gratitude.
You may remember me. I was the emotional woman asking you to solve my problem, an intra-denominational cosmic battle. I asked you, should I stay or should I go?! You said, truthfully, that you didn’t know. More on that later.
Your training program was inspirational. It was the penultimate peak in a week of successes that ended in a sublime service of Holy Communion celebrating our parish youth and the annual end-of-summer week of Vacation Bible School. I believe your project is my calling. I cannot wait to begin and I thank you for this gift. You mentioned how you had read everything you could from the early founding fathers, when clarity of thought and prayer abounded. Now, after 200 years of progress, scientific, social, political etc., humankind has lost its way. Technology and modernity have blurred our relationship with God. The Truth Project has the ability to update humankind, and may very well put us Christians right with the Lord. As you also said so powerfully, who in their right mind, somehow finding it possible to approach God would ever want to leave.
Finally, you said you didn’t know the answer to my dilemma. You then spoke of the pilgrims who stayed and the separatists who returned to England. You said, and I paraphrase, there is nothing new under the sun. Then you proclaimed, if you stay, you will not be able to stay silent, and if you leave, you will lose a lot. Fits nicely with TTP, don’t you think. In framing the question so clearly you clarified the answer. This what the Truth Project affords. Clarity and the ability to discern truth. And we both know the truth will set you free.
In Christ, and in grateful thanksgiving to your success,
Pat
Del,
My family and I met you at the Ft. Lauderdale training. I posed you with a question about pharoah and the hardening of his heart. My mom asked you about a verse that said God created the darkness and evil. At the time she couldn’t remember where the verse was found. She looked it up, it is Isaiah 45:7. I guess if the tree of knowledge of good and evil had not been put in the garden, we really wouldn’t have had much of a choice. She promised you that she would let you know where she saw it.
Just wanted to let you know that we are so very excited about all the materials. Our small group is actually waiting on us to view the videos first. They were going to originally attend with us and through different circumstances couldn’t make it. My teenage son was the one that came up to lead worship and he said he understood so many things. He is looking forward to True U, probably as much as I am. My younger son was also there, he loved your “drama version” of the Bible stories. You claim you are not a speaker, but a teacher. I believe you are both. It isn’t easy to keep your teens interested nowadays, yet they commented how fast the time passed. Thank you for all you do. May the Lord continue to bless you, your family, and all your efforts.
Elena (and Family)
PS I also asked you about the effort to make an “Awana-style” TrueU (with checkpoints). I will call Awana and speak to Kevin. I would love to see a partnership there. This would give TrueU an opportunity to be seen by people who may not otherwise hear about it.
We loved participating in el Proyecto La Verdad at FBC of Weston. It was wonderful to meet others who are interested in using these tools with Spanish-speakers. Thanks so much for the opportunity to share ideas and learn together. We continue to pray for opportunities to share.
The transformation you pray for has taken place. If not in anyone outside of myself, be encouraged that God has moved in both my wife and I; through his spirit in you and your ministry.
Oh, how I have longed for a time such as this. God Bless you, Man of God. You’ll always be in my prayers.
Dear Del,
My group of six couples from First Baptist Church of Naples FL. came expecting and did not leave disappointed. We where truly blessed by your teaching and inspired to continue to hold small groups of our own to get the message of the Truth Project out to as many as God gives us. I don’t care what you say about not being a speaker but a teacher. All I know is God has blessed you with many gifts and a dynamic way of sharing them.
We are so thankful that in a world full of lies and deciet that we have the Truth to share.
May God continue to bless you and your staff.
¡Gloria a Dios! ¡Aleluya!

I have been involved with ESL at our church in Mauldin, SC for several years and the Lord has used this ministry to draw some beautiful Latinos to our church.
We now have ear buds so that those who need the Spanish can hear the sermon in Spanish. I am so looking forward to having the Truth Project available to my Spanish speaking friends - thank you for taking the effort to put this together.
We also walk alongside a ministry in Ecuador and my prayer is that the TP can be introduced there.

I have been leading a Bible Study at the Arizona State Prison in Kingman, AZ and have been telling them about the Truth Project. I average 28 to 30+ inmates each Sat AM and at least 50% of them are Hispanic and they were very excited to hear this would be presented in Spanish without the need for translation. My wife and I were trained by Del over 2 years ago at Yorba Linda, CA and after presenting the TP to our Deacons at Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Havasu, AZ, several of them have (and still are) offering the TP class at our church.
This coming Sat I will launch the Truth Project for these inmates and after showing them the promo and Del’s Bio they are really “pumped”!! Thanks you so much for doing the Spanish translation of this!
Last Sat I was 20 min late because Satan was trying to keep me from finishing my last study and kicking off the Truth Project by pinching a nerve in my back that left me unable to stand or walk on Sat AM, but after a hot bath and much prayer I was able to walk and make the 1 hr drive to the prison. When I told the inmates why I was late, the spanish men made me sit in a chair and all 30+ of them (English & Spanish) prayed for me for apx 10 minutes…all of them out loud (Enlish & Spanish)…and I couldn’t help think about how it must have sounded at Pentecost with all the different languages. By Monday my back was back to normal and I can’t wait until next Sat!!

Dr. Tackett,
What a blessings it was to have the privilege to meet you and your staff.
I am Alejandra’s mom, she was part of the students that the LORD took to Denver for the recording of True-u. I am also the interpreter that translate you at the training at First Baptist at Weston. (With fear and trembling, and also with thanksgiving!).
We as a spanish group just started our first video, and it was a wonderful tour!!! Excellent work in the translation!!! Even though we went through the entire tour in English with the youth group, this time is even more special.
In my beloved Country, Mexico City, my former church just bought 130 sets of material for 130 liders to be trained and at the end of this month the groups will be starting!!!
First Babtist at Weston was so blessed to be able to have all of you.
May our LORD richly bless you and all the staff,
Jeannette
