It was long, but we began a two-day training event for 120 influential leaders who had come from all over Latin America to be trained and prepared to implement Truth Project small groups in their countries.
And what great people!
They came from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and of course, Costa Rica.
They were engaged, attentive and even though we had to communicate through a translator, I felt the closeness that we share in Jesus Christ. I could also see in their eyes and hear in their voices that they, too, share a deep heart to see the Body of Christ healthy and strong.
I was struck again by the awesome oneness that exists between true believers, regardless of language or race or culture. This is the amazing work of the Spirit.

I was also greatly surprised by the presence of several former students, from Honduras and Guatemala. I was elated to see them.
Today, we will begin very early and go another long day with these wonderful leaders. In addition to all of the content and practical things, we will once again talk of the importance of prayer and how critical it is for us to understand that the work we seek, the deep transformation in God’s people, does not come from us or from something magical in the Truth Project DVDs, but from God.
We must ask Him to do it.
“…apart from Me, you can do nothing” John 15:5

Dr. Tackett,
It’s been such a blessing going on several “tours” with you this week. Thank you so much for being a part of God’s story, and for encouraging us to seek Him and glorify Him. Thanks for including this picture in your post, we feel honored.
See you tomorrow!
Hello Del, I truly enjoyed today’s presentation (saturday). Thanks for this great work you’re doing. Just wanted to mention that for me knowing someone begins by knowing his attributes, virtues, strenghts. As we are look at God in the Bible we also cannot avoid looking at His character. From the greek origin kharakt?r, the concept is basically to leave a mark (a character). As we get to know His character, His character leaves a mark in our own character and we in turn can do the same to others. I find this a great way to shine in His light and also disciple the nations. I recommend reading more in http://iblp.org/iblp/discipleship/dailysuccess/commands/characterqualities/
Grace upon grace!!
One of the most comforting passages of scriptures that our Lord and Savior shares with us “but be of good cheer; for I have overcome the World.”
this passage comes just prior to Jesus prays for his own in the 17th chapter of John… Oh what amazing love we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord! and blessings to you and your family Dr. Tackett.
On this fathers day I send you a heart felt Happy Fathers Day!, may the Lord continue to bless you and The Truth Project staff, safe travels in him!
As I prayed to our heavenly Father this morning as the day began I couldn’t help but think of all the Fathers in earth that share the truth in love, that live for him, that die for him and whether life or death, they belong to the Lord.
in his eternal truth in love !
grace upon grace….
Hey Dr. Tackett, It was nice to see a picture of my younger brother and little sister on your blog. It’s been so long since I was at Focus on the Family Institute–its always exciting to see what new things God is doing.
I was in Costa Rica last year with our church’s high school students–your blog post made me think I want to go back.
Glad to hear the trip went well. You’re in our prayers.
It is truly awesome to see God working in you and the Truth Project. How awesome our God is!!!!
To reach and teach people of all languages is a great reponsibility and God is there with all of you. God Bless!!!
