Thank you for all of the encouraging notes and the support you have shown for this effort. I am as excited about this as I was when we were developing the Truth Project. I really believe the Lord will use this in a mighty way.
In your responses, however, there were several questions and some misunderstandings that I would like to respond to.
First, we are hoping to get Set 1 edited and released for the coming school year. That means around September. The second set will be finalized and released late in the fall so as to be ready when students have finished the first one. Sets 3 and 4 will be filmed later this year (if the Lord provides) and be released in time for students to continue on from Sets 1 and 2.
Second, there is a persistent misunderstanding about the purpose of TrueU. It is NOT a Truth Project for teens. It is an apologetic ramp or prequel to the Truth Project. It is intended to prepare students for the skeptical and hostile challenges to Christianity that they will find on the university campus and in life in general.
We will actually be encouraging students to immediately get into a Truth Project small group on campus and form a “band of brothers” that will be crucial to their survival.
Finally, TrueU will not be distributed like the Truth Project, but will be made available as a normal product.
Finally, finally…some of you have asked about the funding issues. I hate to say anything because I know so many are struggling. However, since you asked, I will simply request that you pray with us as we seek the Lord’s blessing. The filming is very expensive. Enough said.
Finally, finally, finally…I chased a bear this morning as I was running. I wanted to get his/her picture, but, alas, he/she was camera shy. All I got were pictures of trees. (There really is a bear in there!)

“What it is ” is going to be FANTASTIC, I am sure in the same spirit of excellence as The Truth Project has been produced, the spirit of excellence which comes as true adoration and love of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus!
“What it isn’t” it isn’t to be missed!!!
yesterday is history ……. tomorrow is not a mystery … as long as we choose to love & live for him today!
Continued prayers and Gods blessings!
Peace be with you…
Pete
I am so grateful for this project. I really relied on Focus on the Family a lot when my children were small. I thought we had kind of outgrown the main topics that Focus covered after they got to college. Since the Truth Project, I realized we have not. It even made us start giving our small regular gift again. I so wish we could give lots more. You have truly blessed our family. We look forward to purchasing this next study.
I recognize that bear picture! I have many like it. I know there’s a bear there, my wife knows there’s a bear there, but we cannot convince anyone else!
I’m excited to see the TrueU series. I’m a college student and currently I’m in Law school at Liberty University. I cannot tell you how great it is to have an understanding of these issues. Biology, science, and worldview is the primary place where people my age struggle. It’s taken me a long time to really grasp it myself. It would have been great to have this knowledge years earlier so that I might have had a greater impact. The world needs this kind of vision, I hope to be on the forefront with you someday.
Nick
Just a quick note and word of encouragement to Nick.
you are on the forefront right where you are, I encourage you to band tightly together with brothers and sisters in the Lord there at Liberty University,
May the Lord bless you and keep you tightly woven in his truth, and keep you in his mercy grace and eternal truth in love!
WOW imagine a graduating class of lawyers who stood for truth. that is the vision!!
so let your light shine Nick.
May God bless you
in his love
Pete
Hi Del,
Thanks so much for what you are doing. Sadly, it is about a century over-due!
I hope you will examine the arguments that Christopher Hitchens presents in “god is not Great”. I have enjoyed taking his arguements and exploring Scipture to find the mistakes he has made. I am sure there are many others, but one helpful internet site has been: http://www.bringyou.to/apologetics/bible.htm#69
Keep up the great work!
Hello, Del & colleagues,
Will indeed be in prayer about funding and The Lord’s other provisions for TrueU!!!
We’re in week 7 (unit 6) of the TRUTH Project in our group from our small church; participants range widely in age, education, and initial perspectives. Conversations post-video are good, and getting better by the week!
Getting a lot of interest for the next time we start a group!!!!
Thanks for the GREAT work y’all are doing!!! Stay encouraged, bros & sisters!!!!
Del,
Our small group just finished The Truth Project. In session 12 you tell the story of the girl you went to school with and how hurtful your taunts were. You then go on to say that you wish you could apologize. My question is this: Why don’t you? With the internet and personal contacts surely you could find this girl. Where there is a will there is a way. If you truly in your heart feel so terrible that you get teary-eyed then by all means at least make an effort to make amends. I would love to know the response that the girl would give to you after all these years. I am curious if you made an impact on her life and what or if any lesson or strength she took away from the experience. Think how wonderful it would be for her to receive an apology. This would be beneficial to both of you.
Dr. Tackett,
I deeply appreciate the work you are doing and appreciate Focus for giving it a platform. Over 19 yrs of ministry I have rarely found an effort to deliver the Biblical Worldview content, at a root level, like you are. I am planning to take all of my kids through the TrueU works and the Truth Project. Thanks Again.
My husband and I along with my 17 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the Truth Project…some of it was above his head (and mine) so we are THRILLED you are continuing on with this….I would go home after each session and want to relive that moment because I felt as though I was gazing into the face of God and felt a renewed closeness to the One who made me and died for me…please keep us posted on the release of this…my son graduates next year and I want him to be prepared with the gospel of TRUTH!
Pretty nice post. I just came by your blog and wanted to say
that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case
I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!
Dr.Tackett,
WOW-WOW-WOW! We have recently finished the Truth Project-small group study. A passion is burning in me to share this with everyone I come into contact with. My husband and I will be going on short term missions shortly, and we are so excited to have such a clear view of God’s perception. This study has made His viewpoint so easy to share and to get right to the heart of the truth so quickly. So many people have been saved but not discipled, therefore having knowledge but lacking the very firm foundation to build upon. I’m 51, and I wish someone would have taken the opportunity to show me the way to the TRUTH, I can’t keep this to myself. We plan to facilitate a small group this fall. Thank you thank you thank you.<
Dr. Tackett,
My husband and I are so excited for this new series! We have worked hard the last 2 1/2 years to advance the Truth Project in our community and are finally seeing some fruit! We will spread the word on this new series for the college age adults! Praying for you all - on this!
