TrueU Filming—Monday & Tuesday

“…men…suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” Rom 1:18-20

For thousands of years, man was unable to see beyond the beauty that only the naked eye could behold. That was sufficient, however, for God to declare that he was without excuse because even God’s invisible attributes were revealed in the visible creation. How much less of an excuse do we have now when advances in science and engineering have given us the ability to see into the deep recesses of space and the innermost parts of the living cell?

Monday &Tuesday’s filming took us into the inner world of molecular biology. How fascinating to find that which was presumed in Darwin’s day to be a mere blob of protoplasm turning out to be a complex factory filled with intricate systems for information storage and retrieval, command and control, decoding blueprints, replication…a tiny world that is a beehive of activity.

The students were awed by an animation that took us on a stunning journey through this miniature city filled with molecular residents all performing their various tasks…kind of like peering into the window of the North Pole and watching the elves at work.

We then contemplated uncontemplatable (is that a word?) numbers that represented the overwhelmingly probabilities against any of the pieces of this complicated factory arising by chance. The conclusion by most reasonable scientists now is that it couldn’t be the product of undirected chance and random processes.

Our children need to know all of this. For they will be constantly fed the mantra that it all just happened and therefore belief in God is just a fairy tale.

The reality is that the evidence is growing to refute that position. And it is getting harder and harder to ignore. That may be the reason for the rise in open hostility represented by books like Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion.

Be encouraged!

I needed to hear “Be encouraged!” It is so easy to become discouraged as I talk to kids, read news articles or listen to the media.
God is still in control, and that is deeply encouraging.

I think it is amusing of how the more we advance in Science, Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, our so called “God Delusion” is becoming harder to disprove.

I am a philosophy major and I study how the human being attempts top disprove God. Even better, I study how religious people try to prove of God. it’s quite intriguing to know that most philosophers do not actually use reason or logic to refute God’s existence. I am aware of the motives of how mathematicians or writers, or anthropologists try to disprove God but I am aware of how philosophers or psychologists try to disprove God’s existence. the answer is experience. I listened to people’s reasons of why God does not exist and the answer is rejection by religion.
Many people in today’s world have been hurt by religious people therefore they will explore ways to disprove God’s presence.

I am saddened to say that religion has hurt many people therefore we must find things that not only prove God through academics but also prove God’s character to be real and genuine. How does heal people not reject or injure people.

As a philosophy major, I attempt to discover people’s view of the world and attempt to explain to people the real God.I think we must encourage unbelievers to explore this website and us be a resource to those who reject God to show those people that God does not hate or reject.
For those who want to know God through academics, have believers guide those people to know Jesus as a scholar.

For those who want to know how God relates to everyday things, show those people God’s desire to be a part of their lives.

    Thank you

I am on my feet cheering this project! God bless you all. The need is SO GREAT.

This is awesome work - God’s blessings on you as you do it.

In this vein, I heard an amazing testimony in church the other day from a young college student who was being baptized. He did not grown up in a Christian home or environment. At a young age he grew interested in science and studied everything he could in the fields of science and evolution. Naturally, this interest eventually led him to college to study the life sciences. In his third year at college he took a course on bioenergetics (apparently, this is the study of how cells manage and use energy), when he realised that evolution couldn’t explain the complexity and the order of the processes going on in the cell. This started him on a personal quest that led him to some Christian friends, and eventually to his accepting Christ as his savior.

It was awesome seeing a bright young man who had been confronted with the fingerprints of God in science and come to faith (I get goosebumps every time I tell the story and as I’m writing now). May this series produce many more such testimonies.

As a mother of teen/20-somethings, I am looking forward to the release of TrueU! Like others, my children have been bombarded with the “truth” of evolution. (How do teachers and textbooks get away with teaching that this is fact??) We have studied the “Truth Project” together, but are looking forward to the high school version of this great study…getting our minds focused on a Christian Worldview. Thank you for all your efforts and wisdom!

    Del,
First S.D.G., then to you also for the Truth Project. I have taught 7th & 8th grade Sunday School/Confirmaiton for years, and this project has been a God send for sure. I have woven this material in at the 7th and 8th grade level this past year, and I tell you it has their attention. The “truth” is something always I have used as a basis for the class… for years, and this work has greatly enchanced presenting the truth to them. When Jesus says “I tell you the Truth…” pay speacial attention and we are all better off for it.
Thanks again Del and all involved in Gods’s work at Foucus on the Family.
    Very Kindly I am yours,
    J.W.

Our Lord created a truly beautiful world. I am
grateful knowing that He is in control always.

May our Beautiful Great One, our Loving Father, continue to bless the work that brings Him the glory that only He deserves!
I have been hosting the awesome Truth Project, and I am so excited about True U! How awesome that we will have teaching that will equip inspire the young and zealous ones who are preparing to run and fight for some good cause…
this is exactly the armor that they need in order to stand in a world without Truth, a world where universities teach that right is wrong and wrong is right. Thank you for designing this program to impart and enable them to effectively swing the Sword of Truth…the Word of GOD, the only Truth that exists!
I cannot wait to get my hands on True U for my family and all the youth that I love so much!
When will the teaching become available?
I continue to pray for the work that GOD has ordained for you to accomplish!
    Thanks again!!!

ABout ten years ago I read a book by two medical doctors who did not believe in God. They conducted many lab experiments on human subjects to discover why people believed in God. Their final conclusion was “we are wired that way”

To add to George’s great article about a college student becoming scientist after studying biology, I know a brilliant young man, that has won all kinds of top state and national awards in science, that is heading to college to become a physicist. He was valedictorian of his class and was told to give a “politically correct speech”, which he was to submit for approval prior to graduation. He did so, and then gave the speech that he felt he should, which gave Jesus Christ the credit for his talents and abilities. I know he will be a highly respected scientist one day, and use his talents to glorify God.

TrueU can’t be done soon enough! I facilitated for the Truth Project this year in our campus town–in a housing unit right across from campus. One of the students told me she took her notebook to science lab (with the cover displaying “Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?”) and 15 students gathered around her notebook and asked her “Where can we take a class like this?” This same student, who is not yet a believer, had been coming to the Truth Project because “we can discuss here what nobody will touch in the University classroom.”
Keep going Del! Give us all you’ve got!

    Hi!.
There is one verse in the Bible that, in my opinion, indicates that we cannot prove or disprove the existance of God. Namely, Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
A second verse says just look around at nature and you will know that God exists. Romans 1:20 says “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
The follow up verses point to a choice that each man who rejects what he or she sees in nature becomes.
RO 1:21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.
