Yesterday, I had to say goodbye to 21 gap-year students that I had the privilege of teaching for the last three days. It didn’t take long for them to weasel their way into my heart and, as I look at their picture, I miss them already.
I hated to leave, but I was due in Spokane to teach at a men’s retreat. That is why I’m in the air as I write this, flying over my beloved boyhood state, Idaho.
This is Impact 360, a total immersion, 9-month program designed to prepare Christian high-school graduates to think biblically and critically and to then survive and thrive on the university campus. It is located just outside of Calloway Gardens, near Pine Mountain, Georgia.
I won’t repeat what I wrote about it last year. If you want to know more about “gap-year” and the battle on the campus and why Impact 360 is in existence, you can go back and review that post.
However, I had to write again about how impressed I am with these great students. Yes, they have multiple weaknesses that the campus is going to directly exploit and they unfortunately already have scars and wounds that sadly are the result of a world pressing ever more deeply into younger and younger ages.
But, they are phenomenal. They are bright, they love the Lord, they are eager to learn, and they are ready to stand up and take their place in God’s Larger Story.
I think they are going to usher in a revival.
But, they need our support.
They need our guidance and mentoring. They need us to listen and to engage them in honest dialogue. They need to see us living out what we believe, for they can smell hypocrisy a mile away.
They need us to pray for them.
So, for Bekah, Bekah & Corrine; Catherine, Catherine & Tiffany; Bethany, Emily & Morgan; Amanda, Katlynne & Brittany; Ashley, Ali & Katie; Josh & Nathan; Zak & Cameron…I will continue to pray for you…and especially for Alex and Mark…thank you for the extended time & long talks.
Thanks also for the Ultimate Frisbee game. Bethany, you were tough to cover!

Hi Dr. Tackett!
Awesome blog! We were thrilled to have you! You were a great speaker that really made the class room come alive. We leared alot from you, and will hopefully be able to pass the Truth Project along, equipping more believers.
You were also a toughie to cover in Ultimate Frisbee. Many times I would think in my head “There is no way he can catch that… I definitely can’t catch that!” And then you would do a ridiculous run/jump thing and catch it. Keep it up, you’re more in shape than I am! It was great to play with you!!
I hope you come again next year. Thanks again for everything you did. It was a pleasure to have you on our campus!
Oh how I resonate with your heart’s desire to raise up an army of godly young men and women to take a stand for Jesus on the campuses of our nation. There are few things that are more pertinent than the assault on Truth by the intellectual elite in academia today….Keep up the great work, Doc.
With you in the battle,
Mike
Dr. Tackett you are doing such an amazing thing for our youth and for all believers. I am currently on week 8 of the Truth Project and it is food for my soul. You have been given such a gift and are sharing with so many. My husband is currently serving in Iraq. He is working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day and his workload constant. I feel like the Truth Project would bless him so much during this season in his life and I would like to send it to him so that he can play it during the few moments he has to himself. I thank God for you and for your teaching and will be praying that He will bless your ministry. Thank you!
I teach 4th grade in a private, Christian school. I have been moved to read about the Truth Project with college kids. I wonder at the impact of making Christ real to a 9 year old?? But if not, then what? We must make Him real and really desirable as a Friend or what else can we offer?
Blessings on all of you as you journey to the kingdom. There are many of us on the road with you so NEVER feel alone. Janis S., Ca.
Dr. Tackett, I cannot tell you how incredibly excited I am to see that you are addressing this age of students! The Truth Project is absolutely, hands-down my favorite program that I’ve been through, and as long as the Lord is willing, I will share it with believers until He comes or takes me home.
But since this program in Georgia is so close, do you think you could commit to teaching it for at least 12 more years so all 3 of my boys can participate? They are now 11, 8, and 4.
Thank you and I thank our God for all you do!
Dr. Tackett I am thrilled to hear that such a program exists!
I am currently working on an apologetics curriculum for High school seniors, and would be thrilled for any advice through existing programs.
Thank You!
Young People are a very special group. I have found them to be eager for knowledge, looking for love and acceptance. Making a difference in a child’s life can make a difference to a nation!

Del, I eagerly await the Truth Project written especially for this group, there are so many who are hungry for this knowledge (some just don’t know it yet …
Many blessings to you and your team.
Del,
First I want to thank you so much for giving of your time at the Summit Conference @ Glen Eyrie. Your message was very timely and spoke to our hearts in a powerful way. I spoke to you immediately after your talk and introduced myself. My name is Lonnie Trujillo and I am the pastor of Legacy Christian Fellowship a Calvary Chapel. We have a small church in Thornton Colorado of about 100 adults and have been using the Truth Project for a few years. We are on our 4th class and it has been an eye opening education on worldview’s for our church. I know you must be asked many times to come and speak and just looking of the Truth Project page I see how many times the training is given around the country so I know you are extremely busy. I use all these qualifiers and yet I was wondering if there would ever be a time when we could have you come and speak to our fellowship on a Sunday morning? My wife works for the Westin Hotel in Westminster and we would be happy to arrange accommodations for you. I am asking knowing that you must get numerous requests but I thought I would ask and see if there is a chance. Again, thank you for yesterday I will never forget the message and what the Lord spoke to me. I will continue to pray for you and the ministry.
God bless,
Lonnie Trujillo

Dear Dr. Tackett,
After serving 21 years as Elders in a great church in Idaho, we were not sure how the Lord wanted to use us in our new church here. Last Fall we attended the simulcast training of the TRUTH PROJECT and we are presently guiding 33 people, in two groups, through the project. We are so amazed by the level of commitment we are seeing. My husband and I have both taught the Word for many years, but we have never been so touched by a teaching as we are this one. It appears that the Lord is using our passion for “truth” through this series and we feel that we have found our “niche” here. To see transformation occur in men and women who have served the Lord for 30 plus years, as well as new Christians, is more exciting than I can express! You are the most inspirational and passionate teacher we have ever sat under, and I say that not to puff you up, but to let you know that you are being used mightily by God to touch this fallen world. We plan, with the Lord’s help, to continue opening our home to all who desire to know the truth through the TRUTH PROJECT. We have several in our groups who are praying about leading a group in their homes, so we know this work will spread just as you planned. Our Pastor is getting wonderful feedback from some of our attendees and is excited about leading others in his home. Together, we can make a difference in this lost and dying world. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family as you serve Him in this life-changing way. We will be forever grateful for your dedication!
I have been a Christian now for 9 years and have been a part of many Bible Studies. The first time I participated in The Truth Project we were going through bankrupsy and the course helped me through it. During week 11 I felt compelled to call the Sunday School Teacher who was material in my coming to Christ and thanked him for his contribution to my being saved. We are doing it again and with out doubt, I’m getting so much more out of it. I only wish I could have taken a course like yours when I went to college. God Bless you. Le
Del,
I have the privilege of co-facilitating The Truth Project with a friend who attended the simulcast training with me last Fall. Our group is comprised of committed Christians who have been following the Lord for many years. Lives are being transformed and we are amazed by the difference having a systematic, comprehensive biblical worldview makes in our daily decision-making.I believe that all of the group members want to faciliate groups in the future. In fact, one member mentioned The Truth Project to a leader of the small groups ministry at a mega-church in our area with around 20,000 weekly attenders dispersed among the various campuses and she is interested in learning more about it for their church small group ministry.
Thank you for mentioning Omega 360. I shared some information about it yesterday with my son who is completing his first year of college and he is interested in exploring it for the upcoming academic year. I shared this information with my co-facilitator and he is interested in sending his daughter in two years.
I and so many others will never be the same as a result of The Truth Project. I call it spiritual dynamite. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Del,
Thank you for sharing information about IMPACT 360 in the The Truth Project E-Newsletter. As a direct result of learning about this outstanding program for 18-20 year olds from you,my son will be attending IMPACT 30 this fall.I believe that this will be a life-transforming experience for him.
Curt
