A Travelogue of Hawaii

Following our Truth Project training conference in Honolulu, my wife and I took a much needed week’s vacation touring Hawaii. We just returned late last night.
The islands are stunning in their beauty and if you will allow it, I would like to “travelogue” a little with you over the next few days and show you some of the awesome sights that “display the glory of God”:
–the amazing Akaka waterfall on the big island of Hawaii;
–our hike along the cliffs of the Na Pali coast of Kauai (below);
–the white-knuckle drive along the “road to Hana” in Maui;
–Iao Valley and the Iao Needle;
–the molten lava flowing down the side of Mount Kilauea;
–Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” as Mark Twain called it;
–Haleakala Crater;
–and a gracious tour of the USS Greenville nuclear submarine in Pearl Harbor.
I’ll try not to bore you with too many details, but I was in awe the whole time. The beauty and grandeur of the islands was stunning to me.
Aloha!

Del! That picture is beautiful! Your camera, I presume. Thanks for suffering for the Lord.
Hey Dr. Tackett,
Nice blog. An AF buddy of mine forwarded me the link. We had both been stationed for three years in Hawaii at Hickam AFB and have fond memories of the Islands and all the good friends we made. My daughter was born there 2 years ago and me the wife and the kiddo just PCSed to Florida (I know rough! :-)) Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Keep up the good work!
Blessings from Iraq,
VC
